Risk and Compliance Senior Advisor – Commercial/Legal

Our client seeks a confident senior lawyer for a very interesting and varied Commercial/Risk & Compliance Advisor role with substantial client interaction. Be well supported as you take substantial responsibility in a team with impressive law firm and in-house experience. Great work-life balance option. This role would suit a Senior Associate or Special Counsel who does not love timesheets!

You may have previously held a similar role and may have sound knowledge of compliance and risk management operations. Or you may be happy to be trained up. It is preferred that you are a qualified senior lawyer.

The role will see you manage stakeholders, undertake legal research and provide written and verbal advice to assist to manage day-to-day operational challenges and meet legislative and regulatory requirements. Also assist in the development and delivery of seminars, and represent the organisation on various government and stakeholder committees and working groups. You should have some understanding of Anti Money Laundering work. Lawyers from New Zealand will be happily considered. 

A background in corporate, commercial law or compliance will be beneficial. While mentoring/support is available, you should be comfortable working at senior level in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a high level of autonomy. You should be customer focussed, creative and personable, while operating with integrity and utilising your commercial, process management and presentation skills.
