Sills & experience
You will be an insurance lawyer at the 2-5 year level. You may have been promoted to Associate recently. You may only have CTP experience who would like to pivot and broaden your skillset. You may only have Plaintiff experience and would like to move to Defendant.
Will primarily comprise of sole day to day carriage of litigated property damage claims. You will act for plaintiffs and defendants under instructions from Australia’s largest insurers. The subject matter of the claims are a mix of motor vehicle, home building, and commercial building. Whilst these are your claims to run, you will be given guidance and support by your supervising Special Counsel and Partner.
Working as part of a team on builders warranty insurance, insurance disputes (indemnity and fraud), larger subrogated recoveries and defences (under instructions from insurer for claims over $100,000 in value), building and construction disputes, strata disputes, and other general commercial disputes.
Mentoring 2-3 juniors; undertaking your own advocacy – appearing in person at directions hearings and contested motions; appearing at final hearings as an advocate; a collegiate team atmosphere; peers who are technically gifted like yourself.
