In-House – Senior Corporate/Commercial Legal Counsel – 4-7 PQE – Perth

New exciting in-house role (Senior Legal Counsel depending on experience)

Role

Enjoying good support, this role itself is broad and will provide substantial responsibility and opportunity. You will work closely with the General Counsel (ex top-tier) in a strong small team. You will have plenty of interaction with GMs and Corporate Managers throughout the business. You will assist with the legal function and become involved in significant legal matters for the business, including commercial and service contracts, general commercial, corporate/mergers & acquisitions, property/leasing, projects, and insurance. Also work on significant contracts, risk mitigation, and compliance. A good drafter with negotiation skills is required. Enjoy supporting on corporate matters, transactions, procurement or project activities – a sound understanding of corporations law, corporate governance will assist. Ideally you will have some energy or infrastructure or construction sector experience. You will also have the opportunity to engage with some litigation/disputes.

You should be able to manage processes and be a good people person – have high EQ.
  
Skills/Experience

To take on this position you will be at least 4 years PQE and up to about 7 PQE, and be a front-end commercial lawyer. Training in a well regarded firm or in-house will be important, and the ability to get on well with people from a range of backgrounds will assist in your success. You should be commercially-minded rather than just a black-letter lawyer.
