Jas Bassi, Senior Consultant

Jas grew up in British Columbia, Canada where he attended the University of Victoria completing a bachelor’s degree in arts, majoring in political science and international relations. Following the completion of his first degree, he attended law school at the University of Leicester, England. In 2014, Jas graduated with honours distinction in law and subsequently returned to Canada, where he commenced his articles at a highly regarded boutique lawfirm. Following the completion of his articles, Jas wrote and successful passed the British Columbia bar exam and was admitted as both a barrister and solicitor.

Jas gained experience in the areas of property, corporate, commercial and civil litigation. He was involved in highly contested litigation involving breaches of real estate contracts and was successful in winning reliefs of specific performance on behalf of his clients.

It was in Canada where Jas met his Australian partner, Natasha, and in 2017, he relocated to Melbourne. Jas was admitted as a lawyer in Australia in June 2018 and subsequently took up a role as a property lawyer with the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning. Wanting to make a change and get back to working with clients face to face, Jas decided to enter the world of legal recruiting. He believes the industry is best suited to his natural abilities and he wishes to use his skills to help other lawyers with their careers.

Equipped with naturally high levels of energy and strong interpersonal skills, Jas prides himself on his ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships with his clients. His friendly nature and commitment to his clients ensures his advice is both honest and unbiased.

Jas is very passionate about and has a deep obsession with soccer. If he is not playing for his various teams, he can be found glued to the television cheering on his beloved Manchester United. Since moving to Australia, Jas has picked up on AFL and barracks for St. Kilda.
