Join VACCA, the leading state-wide child and family agency providing services and acting as a key point of advice for the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) on Aboriginal community wellbeing, particularly in matters of child and family welfare.
This rare role will suit an astute and personable lawyer and will include providing advice direct to VACCA’s CEO on legal and strategic matters including contracts and commercial law, privacy, data protection, intellectual property and information management, including requests for information.
You will be working on business-as-usual activities such as the drafting, preparation and provision of legal advice, the coordination of legal advice with stakeholders, and reviewing and amending current processes and procedures relating to privacy and team training and development.
Key accountabilities include:
- Provision of legal advice
- Drafting and reviewing agreements
- Team projects
- Business support on a diverse range of projects
- Working closely with key business units
Skills and experience
The suitable candidate will be a lawyer with a minimum of 2 and up to 5 years PQE with experience in advising on commercial, privacy and information management matters. You must have a full Victorian Driver’s license and be able to obtain a current Working with Children Check.

We seek a lawyer with excellent communication skills, (both oral and written) and have strong organisational skills and legal research skills, including the ability to analyse information to create solutions and provide strategic advice.
As a pragmatic and commercially focussed lawyer, you will display sound problem-solving and analytical skills, have a positive and proactive attitude, and be able to adapt to change.
