Our client is a leading industry association with a large client base and significant turnover, and capable leadership team. Well known in the South Australian marketplace, it offers a range of services including workplace relations advice to is members.
Joining as the most senior lawyer and taking responsibility for the supervision of a small team, this role has a dual in-house commercial and broader workplace relations focus. Covering areas as diverse internally as governance and contracts, and offering the chance to continue to advise employers on ER/IR matters, this is a rare opportunity to morph your background in IR/ER into a true in-house counsel position. Suited to a senior lawyer, with strong employment law experience, you will supervise others on day to day workplace relations advice, as you also take on a leadership role in the business for its own legal work.
Who it will suit
Suited to a pro-active and team oriented up senior employment lawyer, this role will require a well trained and intelligent lawyer with quality drafting and advisory skills, superior commercial nous, and good interpersonal skills. As the legal team is closely knit and high-quality, someone who is keen, motivated and able to contribute will be highly sought. You may currently be working in and in-house legal team, with a strong employment law background, or as a senior lawyer in a law firm.
This role offers both hands-on business engagement and broader work within the legal team. Broad in scope, the position has a focus on assisting the business move forward. While the role will pay well, with a strong local package, it also offers reasonable working hours, some flexibility, and the chance to play a leadership role in a quality organisation.
