Our Client
Our client is operates a NFP Legal Centre with government funding assisting clients in areas such as family, civil and criminal law. As the key leader in the organisation you will add value to the lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable people who benefit greatly by the legal services offer at the centre.
This Role
Reporting to the Board and having the day to day management of the legal team, you will be charged with managing a half dozen or so quality lawyers, and delivering services under the charter of the service.
Operating out of offices in the Western Suburbs, with need for occasional travel to country areas, you will have a passion for working with those who need lawyers the most, as they navigate personal issues and associated trauma.
Key attributes
You will need to be capable and able to:
- Provide supportive leadership to staff
- Demonstrate a desire to support and empower disadvantaged clients
- Understand or learn the regulatory requirements of a community legal centre
- Demonstrate an enthusiasm to engage and connect with community service providers to build strong referral networks to best meet the complex needs of clients
- Willing to work in a transparent and collaborative way with the Board and staff
- Willing to undertake occasional travel to Country SA
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organisation and in service delivery
- Foster a culture of staff wellbeing, inclusion, and professional development
